Begum Khalida Shah, President Awami National Conference, has sent a memorandum to the President of India, Smt. Pretiba Devi Singh Patel, highlighting the present situation in the state with special mention of the gross Human Rights Violations taking place in the State, especially the recent spat of Killings and Rape at Shopian, Kellar and now at Tangmarg. The uncertainty, mayhem, lack of security to life and property, absence of Zero Tolerance and Administration’ s casual approach to the these Murders and Rapes has been condemned and brought to her notice. Begum Khalida Shah also impressed on her to bring the culprits to book, Repeal all black laws, Remove forces from all Government and private properties, order forces to adhere to Zero Tolerance norm as promised by Hon’ble Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, adequate compensation to the victims of violence since 1989 and to set up a regulatory authority to address to the spiraling unemployment problem in the State.

The copies of this memorandum has also been sent to the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, Smt. Sonia Gandhi, The Home Minister, The External Affairs Minister, National Security Advisor, Speaker of the Parliament and Leader of the opposition.
The same is released to the press as well.
