NO PEACE WITHOUT KASHMIR SOLUTION

Posted by Kashmir Portal on June 16, 2009

Executive Member and Acting Chairman Jammu Kashmir Peoples League Mukhtar Ahmad Waza in a statement has warmly welcomed the comments passed by US Under Secretary State William Burns on Kashmir: in which he said that while seeking solution of Kashmir issue aspirations of Kashmiris must be taken into account; who is on a tour to India . Peace in South Asia will elude, if Kashmir tangle is kept in limbo: while seeking the durable solution to Kashmir as purposeful dialogue must start between India and Pakistan through the active arbitration of US, because in past all talks have failed due to the stance adopted by the two countries for just temporization, Waza said, it is the opportune time for India and Pakistan to address Kashmir issue and resolve it for ever and start work conjointly for the upcoming challenges like economic recession, which may engulf both of them. For the safety of South Asia, it is necessary for India and Pakistan to solve Kashmir problem because both countries are presently in the nuclear arms race, which has snatched the socio-economic right of poor people in the Sub-continent, Waza said. He maintained that it is only sincerity, which must prevail between India and Pakistan and both must go ahead with positive approach over Kashmir tangle and must come out from the phobia of sense of defeat.
