Malik described the recent statements of the Obama’s administration on Kashmir as encouraging.
“Time has come for New Delhi to give up its rigidity and hold serious deliberations with true representatives of Kashmiris. Indian leaders need to understand that voice of Kashmiris cannot be muzzled anymore,” he added.
Malik said that when he had met the prime minister, Manmohan Singh, and had presented him the signatures of lakhs of Kashmiris, the PM, according to Malik had expressed his willingness to settle the Kashmir issue peacefully. “I hope Dr Singh remembers his promise and takes steps to hold a tripartite dialogue,” he added.
